Early October we had this idea of hampers in our head. We thought our Christmas products would look great in a festive hamper. Small to medium size companies were our ideal target to approach with this idea, but we had never pitched anything this size before.
We didn’t know how to price them, we didn’t know how they would end up looking, we didn’t know how much floor space we would need. But most important of all, we didn’t know how much of our time this would take!
We had our first meeting planned mid-October and went in expecting not a lot. However, we came out with a contract to make 113 hampers!! They would be the company’s Christmas presents to its employees.
Holy sh&t we just landed a major gig!! We were pumped, excited and ready to plan this order. And as a result ready to forgo all other planned business meetings and focus on doing this one well so that we could build on the experience for next year.
The order
The company got the opportunity to sample a range of our products and pick from those the ones they would like featured in their hampers. From there we set the price, created the look, allocated time and got to work!
The final product list for the hampers included:
- 1 x bottle mulling syrup
- 1 x bag of speculoos biscuits
- 1 x bag of Christmas butter biscuits
- 1 x personalised biscuit
We took a leap of faith because fortune is with the brave and it turned out to be in our favour. Even though it took us many hours, we had even more fun completing this order than we expected. And nothing, nothing gives us more satisfaction in this venture than making people smile with our treats.
These hampers were specifically tailored around our Christmas offering.
